I saw this East Hampton home from Chango & Co about a week ago, and I’ve gone back to look at it dozens of times. Something about it caught my eye: The designer Susana Simonpietri seamlessly weaved rustic and modern elements throughout this historical home. The result is a light airy space with a refreshed feel to it. As a designer, married to a rustic-loving-cowboy-of-a-man, I’m constantly looking for this very mix. It’s right in keeping with the crisp and clean aesthetic that I love so dearly.
The fresh fun prints and polished nickel offset the country charm of the bead board in the living room.
The clean lines of the windows and shaker style cabinets add a subtle modern touch.
The dutch door could look very down-on-the-farm, but not in this home. The bright white color palette and architectural detailing keep the look youthful and … I’m going to say it again CRISP.
The industrial pendants throughout the home read historic chic, but their maximum size adds tons of personality.
Y’all if I saw that chipped mirror all by itself in a thrift store, I would have walked away, but it brings the modern table and lighting back down to earth in the Hamptons.
Have I mentioned I want to move here tomorrow? What a cozy bedroom. The glass lamps are the sparkle in this room. The juxtaposition to the exposed brick fireplace makes me so happy.
So tell me, are you up for mixing modern and rustic elements?
