Let’s call this a teachable moment. I thought I’d share inspiration boards from two very different projects.
Coastal interior design is something that comes naturally to me. I grew up in a coastal town and I love a bright preppy color palette.
However, I learned something valuable this week: Stepping outside your comfort zone is a very good thing. Think about it, how else do you learn and grow without a challenge?
The color gray put my design smarts to the test. I will say that I lucked out that the colors blush and gray happen to be Lindsey Cheek’s speciality. I had the most enriching time learning the coordinating colors and different (yes, I’m about to say this) shades of gray. The two of us did our homework and created a polished space with just the right amount of feminine charm.
I suppose my lesson learned is that being “good” at something doesn’t mean that you don’t have a lot more to learn. I encourage everyone to do something a little outside their norm. I promise it will have you buzzing with creativity.
